Vintages

Vintages

Beyond terroir and grape varieties, each wine carries the imprint of its vintage.
The climatic conditions of each year influence the ripening of the grapes, the balance of the wines and their evolution over time.
In Faugères, this expression is also linked to the ability of schist soils to accompany climatic variations. Deep, structuring or regulating, they contribute to the balance of the wines according to the conditions of each year.
Through our ageing practices, we seek to allow time to reveal the identity of each vintage, its finesse and its complexity.
The vintages presented correspond to the wines currently available at the estate. Some continue their evolution in the cellar before being offered for tasting and sale.

2023

A sunny and structured vintage

2023 belongs to the warm and structured vintages.
A year marked by a hot and dry summer, which required great adaptability from the vines. Under these conditions, the old vines planted on schists played an essential role in regulating ripeness.
The wines display significant substance, beautiful aromatic depth and a well-defined structure. Time in ageing gradually softens this richness and reveals greater finesse and balance.

2022

A sunny, powerful and concentrated vintage

2022 will remain as a particularly dry and warm year.
The significant water stress led the vines to naturally concentrate the grapes. Deep soils and old vines helped preserve balance despite the extreme conditions.
The wines express great density, with ripe tannins and a substantial structure. They require time to fully reveal their harmony.

2021

A fresh and precise vintage

2021 presents a different profile from previous years.
A spring marked by strong climatic challenges, followed by a season allowing more progressive ripening, resulted in wines with a greater focus on finesse.
The natural balance of the vintage offers more slender wines, with greater freshness and a more delicate expression of the terroir.

2020

A classic and balanced vintage

2020 represents a year of balance.
The climatic conditions allowed regular ripening, with a fine harmony between maturity, freshness and structure.
The wines offer a clear expression of the Faugères terroir: a present and generous substance, accompanied by natural tension and a gradual evolution through ageing.

2019

A classic and harmonious vintage

2019 benefited from generally balanced conditions throughout the growing season.
The ripeness of the grapes developed progressively, allowing wines where fruit, structure and freshness find a natural balance.
A vintage that clearly expresses the terroir, with harmonious evolution over time.

2018

A vintage of contrasts

2018 was marked by alternating periods of humidity and heat.
These conditions required particular attention in each parcel in order to guide every vine towards its balance.
This vintage expresses significant diversity according to terroirs and exposures, with wines combining freshness, finesse and depth.

2017

A sunny and structured vintage

2017 belongs to the great dry and warm vintages of recent years.
Drought and high summer temperatures strongly shaped the season. In this context, the old vines demonstrated their ability to adapt thanks to their deep root systems.
The wines display significant structure, great concentration and a strong capacity to evolve over time.
